Compared to the MateBook X Pro notebook that was announced in February, the Huawei Matebook 13 features a 13.3-inch touchscreen that supports the resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels and offers an impressive 88% screen-to-body ratio. The left and right frames of the notebook are only 4.4 mm. A 3: 2 ratio, 100% sRGB and 300nit of brightness is also outstanding.
The thickest part of the Huawei Matebook 13 is only 14.9 mm and weighs 1.28 kg. The new Huawei notebook is 6% smaller and lighter than the MateBook X Pro. It will be available in colours like grey, silver and rose gold.
It is important to note that the MateBook 13 is equipped with NFC connectivity. The NFC recognition area is placed in the right-hand palm rest. Also noteworthy is the built-in fingerprint sensor below the power button.
The huawei MateBook 13 is available in two variants. One is powered by the 8th generation of the Intel Core i5-826U with UHD620 graphics card. Another also has an 8th generation Core i5-8560U processor with NVIDIA MX150 graphics.
The two variants come with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of SSD storage and a 42W battery. The notebook is also equipped with Shark Fin Fan 2.0 technology, which includes a cooling module with a double fan and two heat pipes. The fans run at 8,000 RPM. The left side of the device has a USB-C port. On the right side is another USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio output.
Huawei has not confirmed the price of the new 13-inch MateBook. What we do know is that sales start in December. This laptop is expected to be priced lower than MateBook X Pro, which has a launch price of 1155 Euros in China.
